About the Authors

Susan Daffron and James Byrd own Logical Expressions, Inc. and have been developing Web sites professionally since 1997. Logical Expressions offers Web site development, content creation, publishing, and custom software services to customers from all over the United States.
As the "expressive" half of Logical Expressions, Susan does the graphic design and writing work. James (the "logical" half) writes scripts for forms and does all the programming for any custom applications. He also developed all the custom database software for their data-driven sites.
The couple operates Logical Expressions from their log home in North Idaho, with moral support from their four dogs and two cats.

Susan has been publishing newsletters for years. In addition to the two she produces now, she produced a popular weekly computing ezine called Logical Tips, a weekly ezine about the Sandpoint, Idaho area called the Sandpoint Insider, and a pet ezine called Pet Tails that appeared twice/month.
For two years, Susan also published a free (print) computer “how to” magazine called Computor Companion. The magazine evolved into a quarterly online publication and continues to receive rave reviews from computer users on the Web. Susan also has written articles for a newsletter site called Newsletter Help and a recipe site called Many Veggie Recipes.

About James Byrd
James Byrd has been a programmer since 1985 and has written for numerous trade magazines and Web sites. He has experience in developing software for a wide variety of platforms from mainframes to personal computers. His database software, e-commerce solutions, and dynamic web content sites are being used by small businesses and large corporations throughout the United States.
James also was a Senior Internet Developer and then Internet Development Manager for a $100 million web site (and several back-end systems) at women's clothing retailer Coldwater Creek. During his tenure he managed a team of programmers, developed customer loyalty and credit card programs, and helped keep Coldwater's ecommerce site (spanning four server farms) up, running, and making sales for several years.
